| Jennifer Haley has been working as decorative artist in the bay area for over four years. Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Jen has spent many years exploring many cities up and down the east coast until she found the beauty of San Francisco so alluring, she decided to begin her long time dream of having her own decorative painting company, Faux Finishes by Jennifer Haley. Jen received her Bachelors degree in the theater arts from Florida State University, and graduated in 1999 with a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Delaware's Professional Theater Training Program. There she studied all the intricacies of implementing a professional theater production. Studies included sound design, set and lighting design, construction, stage management, properties and painting. She found that paint was her passion. The smell of it, the feel of it and the ability of it to transform any surface and create any illusion desirable was extremely exciting. Upon graduating, she became a freelance prop artisan and scenic artist. She worked for several years in various venues such as the Philadelphia Opera Company, Arden theater Company, Baltimore Opera, Opera Delaware, The Wilma Theater, and the Coconut Grove playhouse in Miami. In that time she enjoyed travel and spent some time living in Portugal as an artist, and upon returning to the United States decided to explore her talents in another venue, Visual Display. She worked creating enticing window displays and inviting interior displays for the retail chain ANTHROPOLOGIE. Visual Display brought her to California, and upon seeing the architecture and the beauty of San Francisco decided this is where she could implement her skills and create custom faux finishes and designs for peoples homes and businesses. Since then she has a enjoyed a very successful business, and her were work has been featured on various episodes of HGTV's "Curb Appeal" and had been published in the Curb Appeal Better Homes and Garden Book. When Jen is not painting, you can find her wondering the streets of San Francisco, exploring art galleries, enjoying the company of friends, and traveling to the lands beyond the bay area! |
